Built to Change the Outcome of a Race

When it comes to motorsport braking, the system you choose can decide the outcome of a race. The Bosch Motorsport ABS M5 Clubsport Kit is widely regarded as one of the best racing ABS systems available, combining advanced control algorithms, broad vehicle compatibility, and a real, measurable gain in braking performance. It's a strong choice for drivers at every level of competition, from club racing to full professional programs.

The M5 platform introduces updated control algorithms and new hardware over the previous generation, delivering tighter wheel slip control and stronger brake performance across a wider range of racing conditions. Its algorithms continuously monitor vehicle dynamics to maximize deceleration while preventing wheel lock-up, and the system delivers roughly a 20% increase in braking capability compared to stock or OEM systems. Because there are no low-grip or ice-condition modes built in, the M5 is purpose-built for high-performance racing rather than street or all-weather use.

Every ABS M5 unit is calibrated to the specific vehicle it's installed on using Bosch's RaceABS configuration software, so the system is tuned to that car's dynamics instead of running a generic map. Not sure which kit fits your car? Compare every ABS M5 configuration on our Bosch ABS M5 Kit Comparison guide.

How Motorsport ABS Actually Works

A short overview straight from Bosch Motorsport.

Configuration

Vehicle-Specific Calibration With RaceABS

The ABS M5 Clubsport is configured using Bosch's complimentary RaceABS calibration software. A Bosch MSA-Box II USB interface (sold separately) connects the unit to your laptop, letting the system be tailored to your chassis and braking package rather than running a generic setup.

  • Vehicle weight, wheelbase & track width
  • Individual wheel loads & tire rolling circumference
  • Wheel speed sensor tooth count (increment count)
  • Additional vehicle-specific ABS parameters
Cockpit Control

12-Position Function Switch

The included rotary switch lets the driver instantly select the ABS calibration best suited to changing track conditions, with no laptop connection needed. Each position corresponds to a pre-calibrated Bosch Motorsport map.

Dry / High-Grip

Minimal ABS intervention for maximum braking performance.

Intermediate Grip

Balanced intervention tuned for mixed conditions.

Wet / Low Grip

Increased wheel slip allowance for rain, gravel, or low-traction surfaces.

CMS Exclusive Service

Not Sure Which Wheel Speed Sensor You Need? We'll Test It, Free.

The ABS M5 uses a DF11-style wheel speed sensor, and most vehicles need the standard DF11s, though DF11i and the rarer DF11v also exist. Rather than guess, send us your factory wheel speed sensor and we'll identify the correct sensor type and matching CAN bus speed before your ABS M5 ships. You only need to cover shipping to and from our facility. If your factory sensor isn't a direct plug and play match, we'll help source a solution.

Why Buy Your ABS M5 from Creative Motorsport Solutions?

Choosing the right ABS platform is only half the equation. Getting the most from it comes down to correct sensor selection, proper RaceABS calibration, and knowledgeable support when you're setting the system up for your specific car.

Creative Motorsport Solutions has been active in professional and club racing for over 20 years, and we're an authorized Bosch Motorsport dealer. We supply ABS M5 kits across IMSA, SRO GT World Challenge, Michelin Pilot Challenge, WRL, ChampCar, SCCA, NASA, Gridlife, Optima, and Pikes Peak, and we help customers select the correct hardware to maximize braking stability and deliver repeatable performance.

Our team is available before and after the sale for questions on kit selection, wheel speed sensor compatibility, and RaceABS configuration. When you purchase from Creative Motorsport Solutions, you're working with specialists who understand these systems, not simply another online reseller.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the ABS M5 Clubsport plug and play for my car?

Not entirely. The Clubsport uses a universal wiring harness rather than a vehicle-specific one, and brake lines are required to complete the installation. It's designed to fit a wide range of vehicles rather than one specific model.

What's the difference between the ClubSport and Kit 1/2?

The Clubsport uses an OEM-style universal harness and covers the core ABS functionality most club and endurance racers need. The Kit 1/2 adds a custom vehicle-specific harness and unlocks advanced Bosch control strategies like downforce-dependent slip and lateral deceleration slip, aimed at professional GT3, GT4, and prototype programs.

Do I need to buy anything else to configure the system?

Yes. A Bosch MSA-Box II USB interface is required to connect the ABS M5 to a laptop running RaceABS software, and it's sold separately from the kit.

Can I use this on a front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive car?

Yes. The ABS M5 Clubsport supports front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive, and all-wheel drive vehicles.

Which wheel speed sensor do I need?

Most vehicles use the standard DF11s sensor, though DF11i and the rarer DF11v also exist. If you're not sure which your car needs, send us your factory sensor and we'll test it and confirm the correct type and CAN bus speed before your kit ships.

Does the ABS M5 include low-grip or ice modes?

No. The M5 is purpose-built for high-performance racing rather than street or all-weather use, so it doesn't include low-grip or ice-condition driving modes.

Are circuit breakers and brake lines included in the kit?

No. Circuit breakers are sold separately as part of our ABS Installation Kit, and brake lines are not included since they're specific to each vehicle's brake system.

Can I switch ABS calibration at the track without a laptop?

Yes. The included 12-position function switch lets the driver select from pre-calibrated Bosch Motorsport ABS maps directly from the cockpit, with no laptop connection needed.
