X2 Club Driver ID Kit

Tells timing and scoring exactly who is in the car. One button press at each driver change, and up to five drivers share a single transponder.

Overview

What Is It

Driver identification for multi-driver endurance racing on the MYLAPS X2 timing platform.

In endurance racing, the car crosses the line with one transponder, but the results and driver time records need to know which driver was behind the wheel for every lap. The X2 Club Driver ID Kit solves that at the source. It connects to your direct-powered MYLAPS transponder and adds the active driver to the data the transponder sends to the timekeeper.

At a driver change, the incoming driver presses one button and the LED display shows the new driver number. There are no hand-written stint sheets to reconcile and no relying on race control to note the change. The button is sized to work with racing gloves on, and the display brightness can be adjusted for night racing.

Compatibility

Which Transponders It Works With

Transponder Club Driver ID Kit Notes
MYLAPS TR2 (Direct Power) ✓ The TR2 reads Driver ID as an analog input, so it connects to the module's Analog/TR2 port
MYLAPS X2 Transponder (Direct Power) ✓ Reads Driver ID over CAN, through the module's CAN/X2 port. Needs a valid subscription and current firmware
MYLAPS X2 Pro Transponder Plus Ask us The X2 Pro family also reads Driver ID over CAN. Call before ordering so we can confirm the right setup for your car

MYLAPS notes that Driver ID requires current transponder firmware. You can check and update it in MYLAPS Connect. Port details per SRO America's Driver ID equipment guide.

Getting Ready for the Race

  • Confirm your transponder is on the latest firmware in MYLAPS Connect before the event.
  • Connect the Driver ID unit to the transponder and power source with the included cabling.

  • Mount the unit where both the driver and the crew can see the display during a stop.
FAQ

Common Questions

Which series require the X2 Club Driver ID Kit?

IMSA's 2026 VP Racing SportsCar Challenge Technical Regulations require the X2 Driver ID Club Kit on every car (Art. 8.4.1). Series such as the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie and the 24H Series require a transponder with driver ID, and the X2 Driver ID system is one accepted way to meet that rule. Check your series' current regulations to confirm.

How many drivers can share one transponder?

Up to five. You set the number of drivers, from 2 to 5, by holding the button while the unit powers up.

How does the driver change get recorded?

The incoming driver presses the button, the display shows the new driver number, and that driver ID is sent with the transponder data to the timekeeper.

Does it work with the TR2 transponder?

Yes. The Club kit works with both the X2 Direct Power transponder and the TR2 Direct Power transponder.

Can I see the display at night?

Yes. Display brightness is adjustable, so it can be bright enough for daylight and dimmed for night racing.

Do I need anything else to use it?

A compatible direct-powered MYLAPS transponder on current firmware, and the series or timekeeper set up to read Driver ID. Check your series regulations to confirm whether Driver ID is required.
