A compressor, accumulator, and control unit in one integrated package.
The Air Power Source combines an air compressor with an accumulator in a single housing, removing the need for extra pressure vessels and hoses between separate components. A bespoke integrated control unit manages motor operation precisely for maximum efficiency. It can run entirely standalone, self-regulating to a preset pressure range with only power and ground connections required, or it can be controlled and monitored over a CAN bus system for full integration with your data logging and control setup.
The casing is CNC machined from high grade 7075 aluminum alloy and anodized for protection in all conditions. Since its introduction in 2012, the APS has become an integral part of the Shiftec range, recording class victories at both Le Mans and the Daytona 24 Hours, plus stage wins at WRC level. Its low power consumption and lightweight, easy-to-package design make it particularly well suited to saloon and single-seater cars where space is at a premium. For customers competing in dusty conditions, an optional remote air filter hose and adaptor kit is available.

No. The APS can run entirely standalone with a preset pressure range, requiring only power and ground connections. CAN connectivity is available if you want to control and monitor it as part of a larger system, but it's optional.
The APS combines both into one housing with its own control electronics, cutting down on packaging, hoses, and separate components. It trades some mounting flexibility for a tighter overall footprint.
It's an optional accessory for teams racing in dusty conditions, like rally or off-road events, letting you relocate the air intake away from dust and debris.

You may return most new, unopened items within 7 days of delivery for a full refund (less the cost of shipping). Special order items will be subject to a restocking fee, so please contact us before sending your item. Your refund will process within one week of Creative Motorsport Solutions receiving your item. Please note the time it takes your bank to process your refund may take up to 5 to 10 business days.
We diligently try our best to keep the most popular items in stock. However, certain items may have extended lead times as items have to get shipped from their respected manufacturer's warehouses to us first; and then to you. If the items are in stock, the average added transit times are:
